Daniel SOUCAZE des SOUCAZE
With a family home located opposite the Pic du Midi de Bigorre, Daniel SOUCAZE des SOUCAZE, originally from the High Pyrenees, imagined working on this “ship of the stars” from a very young age, which made him dream so much.
He had to wait until May 4, 1998, to finally climb this summit, as a civil engineer, in order to carry out the important rescue project of the Pic du Midi, at almost 3000 meters above sea level.
Since June 2001, he has managed, on behalf of the Syndicat Mixte du Pic du Midi, the operation of this site with its access by ski lifts and its living and reception infrastructures.
After difficult first years, in 2008 he proposed a strategy that he and his teams would continue to improve and complete.
Constantly evolving in terms of notoriety, attendance, turnover, and customer satisfaction, it makes it an essential site in the Pyrenees.
Open all year round, it focuses on the quality of the products offered, and on a unique experience for its visitors. The latest projects carried out complete an already exceptional offering, whether on the Col du Tourmalet, or on the future renovation of the high-end “Chalet refuge des Laquets ”, connected to the Pic du Midi by a cable car.
