Sònia Figueras
Sònia Figueras has more than 20 years of experience in education and tourism. Before 2004, when she started working at the UNWTO Academy, she was a teacher.
Currently, as Programme Manager, she leads and develops new projects at this organization, including the UN Tourism QUEST programme for Tourism Destination Management Organizations. During the previous 10 years, she led the UN Tourism ExEd (previously UNWTO.Capacity) programme, for which, among other tasks, she tailor-made courses and workshops for professionals in the sector, using the pedagogical methodology she developed to transfer knowledge with short initiatives. At the same time, for 5 years, she managed the UN Tourism PiE programme for the educational and training centres of the UNWTO.TedQual network.
She has also vitalised and developed education and training projects with other UN Tourism partners.
