JAVIER CORSO – EXPLORER NATIONAL

Photographer & Director of the OAK agency

Javier started working as a documentalist in 2011. As director of the agency and producer of documentary projects OAK, he coordinates each project carried out by the different multidisciplinary teams. His work as a photographer addresses topics outside current media, delving into the relationship between man and his environment, individuals and territory, through laws, beliefs and culture. His works have been awarded internationally, and published in media such as National Geographic, Al Jazeera, TIME or GEO.

Among the cultural centers that have hosted his work, the Spanish Embassy in Tokyo, the Intituto Cervantes in New York and Albuquerque, the Florida Museum of Photography Arts, the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid and the Palau Robert in Barcelona stand out. His work is part of the traveling exhibition “Creators of Consciousness”, coordinated by Chema Conesa and Juan Manuel Castro Prieto, which includes the work of 40 photojournalists committed in Spain.

Corso is Explorer of the National Geographic Society since 2018. In 2019, he started working for National Geographic Creative Works (Spain) as creative advisor and content producer. He currently collaborates with other Explorers coworkers, contributing his knowledge of storytelling to the dissemination of scientific and research projects.

Person and agency responsible for the union/management and coordination with IMAGINE, he will document the entire process and generate the storytelling of the project.
