Academic background

Graduate in Mathematical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, with an Erasmus program at the University College Dublin and postgraduate training at ESADE in the areas of Human Resources and Leadership.

Professional experience

She began her career in 1996 in Mexico, carrying out technological consulting work for companies from different sectors, work that she continued in other territories such as France, the United Kingdom and Italy.

Technology advisor applied to human resources for Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking in Paris. In 2007, she joined the Barceló Group, in the position of Head of Organization and Projects at the corporate level. In 2009, Arabella Starwood joined Arabella Starwood as Corporate Director of Human Resources, a work that continued until 2019, managing the period of its acquisition by Marriott International.

Member of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands and member of the CECET (Executive Committee of the Spanish Tourism Council) preparing the Sustainable Tourism Strategy 2030 for Spain.

Since her appointment in 2019 as General Director of Tourism of the Government of the Balearic Islands, she has managed initiatives such as the Law of Excesses, the pact with the cruise sector, and the Law of Circularity in Tourism. In addition, she leads the implementation process of projects associated with the Next Generation funds, including modernization and reconversion programs for mature tourist areas, the creation of an international tourism innovation HUB, and circular economy and social sustainability projects, among others.
