Fernando Valdés
He holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Master's degree in International Relations from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He has studied different postgraduate programmes in international relations, and has also completed the leadership programme for public management at the IESE Business School and the Digital Business programme at ISDI. After five years working for the NGO Doctors of the World as head of projects in Africa, in 2009 he joined the Senior Corps of Civil Administrators of the State.
In the General State Administration, he has held various management positions. In 2016, he was appointed Deputy Director General for the Digitalisation of Industry and Collaborative Environments until his appointment in July 2018 as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. Since July 2020, he has been Secretary of State for Tourism.
