Christopher Hinteregger

Christopher is a tourism expert with over 15 years of experience in the industry and destination development. He studied tourism management in Austria and then started working as a consultant. Since 2003, he has implemented over 50 tourism projects in 19 countries, including several projects in mountain destinations, and has been a speaker at over 30 international tourism conferences in 17 countries.

Christopher teaches “International Consulting – Destination Development” at the university. He joined PKF in 2018 and is currently Managing Director of PKF tourismexperts, a company that primarily supports public administrations to develop tourism in a professional manner in their destinations.

The second day of the congress will start with some reflections. The first part of the keynote on trends will highlight important global trends and their consequences for the tourism industry in general and for mountain destinations in particular. Will Chinese travelers dominate European ski slopes in the future?

How are millennials different and what does it mean? The second part will discuss current trends in mountain destinations around the world: How are mountain destinations trying to differentiate themselves from competitors? Is skiing still the engine for development?

Christopher is a university lecturer lecturing "International Consulting - Destination Development" and in 2018 he joined PKF and is now the Managing Director of PKF tourismexperts, a company mainly supporting public administrations on their way to professionally develop tourism in their destination.
